Yes but no. We try and concentrate on bands that have released their record on a label. If you have, there’s a big chance your label already sent us a copy. If not, you should consider finding a new label.
How do you pronounce ö..?
Nö Music s pronounced [no 'myoozik], just like Motörhead.
Why do you rate records from 1-10 with decimals?
We read some reviews in search of the perfect rating system, and found out they’re all pretty shit. So we landed on this one because it makes it possible to not only diversify on a scale from 1-10, but also finely tune records of the same score. Pardon the pun.
The ratings will more or less fit this scale:
10 A contemporary classic!
9 Excellent, from one end to other
8 Very good - coherent, well-produced and memorable
7 Good
6 Stands out in the crowd, but is lacking to convince us completely
5 Average and mediocre
4 OK attempt, might have one good song
3 They try, but fail…
2 Poor
1 Wouldn’t touch it with a tampon
You’re Norwegian, why do you write in English – what are you, pretentious or something?
Writing about Norwegian bands for an abroad audience would be somewhat difficult if we were to write Norwegian, don’t you think? And we have contributors from several English-speaking countries. (Not to claim we’re not pretentious, but then you gotta be if you’re to write about this shizzle. Innit.)
Can I write or review stuff for you guys?
Quite possibly. Do you:
a) have an amazing camera;
b) a Hunter S. Kerouac-worthy notepad;
c) impeccable music taste;
d) live in an town with a bandwidth to die for, but sadly the ferry only crosses twice a year so no-one ever gets to experience the burgeoning live scene; or
e) possess all of the above?
