Motorpsycho album details revealed

Written on December 1st, 2009 by Dan Roberts

Oslo-based label Rune Grammofon have revealed the details and artwork for Motorpsycho’s upcoming release Heavy Metal Fruit. The follow up to this year’s vinyl only Steve Albini-produced Child of the Future is due on the 15th of January next year (this time with Kåre Westrheim helping out on production) and sounds like quite a prospect. Yes, we can look forward to guest spots from Jaga Jazzist trumpeter Mathias Eick and the lovely Hanne Hukkelberg, more striking artwork from Rune Grammofon’s inhouse designer Kim Hiorthøy, and a heady barrage of what the label lists as “metal, classic rock, moogs, mellotrons, prog, psychedelia, westcoast harmonies and jazzy instrumental parts”, as well as the tantalising outro of  “the 20 minute majestic ”Gullible´s Travails”, quite possibly the finest piece of music they have ever commited to record.” Well, they’re selling it, so they would say that, wouldn’t they, but it still sounds pretty rad.
