Datarock’s drummer breaks leg on stage

Written on November 23rd, 2009 by Åse Bredeli Røyset

Saturday, Datarock took the stage at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, however the phrase “break a leg” obviously didn’t sit right with drummer Adrian Meehan (aka Reverend Breverend). Just before taking his plase to give it that Datarock all, something goes terribly wrong, and Meehan is rushed off to the Inn City Hospital, where a double spiral fracture in his right ankle is confirmed. He undertook surgery yesterday.

Send some flowers and wish him a safe recovery, while the rest of the tour continues more or less as planned — drummer David Park (aka Zildjian The Barbarian) fills inn for Meehan. Park is, as you may have guessed, Karin Park’s brother and drummer, and the two are supporting Datarock on this tour. Tonight they will visit Brighton, and in London tomorrow their Norwegian drummer Tarjei Strøm (aka LA Gear) will take the sticks.

See video on their MySpace for the story from the fall to the X-rays.
