Kråkesølv by Sanna Blix
After the democratic and thorough (you have my word) process of choosing some 40 acts from 1200 demos sent to by:Larm last month, by:Larm start their second booking phase. This means booking bands the festival believes has made a name for themselves and are ready to take a step further, be it internationally or on home grounds.
The first two were announced a few weeks back, The Megaphonic Thrift and Siri Nilsen, added to the line up today are:
Altaar
Children and Corpse playing in the streets
Jens Carelius
Kråkesølv
Line Larsen
Moddi
Altaar is the ambient/doom project of Andreas Tylden - live this has ranged from a full band set up at this year’s Øya Club Night, or what you may called ’stripped down’ to its bare doom essentials with Tylden and Sten-Ove Toft at Musikkfest Oslo.
Children and Corpse made their mark on last year’s Urørt final, while Moddi travelled the country with his accordian, cronically out-of-tune russian exhibition mandolin and an ocean blue guitar with two broken frets. Jens Carelius will outgrown them both, if not only in years then at least in spirit, with his acclaimed bluesy folk rock. Line Larsen, the only major-signed artist of the lot, draws on influences from classic Creation bands, and a history of musical collaborations with Morten Abel and Magnet amongst others.
And when it comes to Kråkesølv, the impending review here on Nö Music says it all…
