Today the full list of lucky demo bands selected by by:Larm’s fair and just jury was released. Ranging from Jabaman’s ironic rastafari to Wardruna’s Sunnn0)))-folk, everything looks set for scaring the living daylights outta a world of industry blaggers… And guess what, Nö Music got to take our pick.
The 41 artists below are joing the three teasers announced by by:Larm last week. A few days after its jury had listened through the 1100 demos sent in from all over this wide-stretched country they couldn’t help but reveal the country-pop act Mhoo: four 17-year olds that took the twelve-piece jury by surprise with their picture perfect harmonies and contagious good spirits.
Also announced were Siri Nilsen and The Megaphonic Thrift — the first two acts to be booked by the festival. For those confused by this; by:Larm’s demo jury selects around 40 underground/unsigned Norwegian acts for the festival. On top of this comes 40 bigger Norwegian acts and 40 Nordic acts - ending up at an approximate 120 audience and industry-friendly artists to take the stages around Oslo’s Youngstorget 18th-20th of February 2010.
Next year’s by:Larm lot was selected by the below mentioned over a weekend of heavy listening, heavier rejections and innumerous battles over which band sounds least like Sonic Youth, whose press shot is the worst and thorough debates over for which candidate by:Larm would prove most beneficial.
