Yoga Fire named MTV Best Norwegian Act

The pretty silly ’super-group’ Yoga Fire overcame competition from the questionable shortlist of Donkeyboy, Maria Mena, Paperboys and Röyskopp to come away with the title of Best Norwegian Act at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. They will now go up against twenty-one winners from other nations in the battle for the prize of Best European Act. The term ‘Best’ seems to be bandied about pretty generously here - the only one of the 21 I can confess to have heard of is ‘Agnes’, that lass off Swedish Idol who wants you to release her body, so Yoga Fire shouldn’t feel too hard done by if this one slips their grasp.
