Real Ones to release commisioned Ekko-work

Written on September 22nd, 2009 by Åse Bredeli Røyset

For this weekend’s Ekkofest, the festival has commisioned new work from local psychedelia legends Real Ones. Succeeding last summer’s award winning All for the Neighbourhood, comes Real Ones’ music in a new instrumental wrapping. Gone are pop songs for the singalong suckers; this is the even psychier side to the country fanatics - from the previews available from their mySpace you hear hints of a Real World gone meditatively repetative. However, there were at least three o-ooh’s, not sure if that still qualifies for the instrumental band Ekko asked for…

The world premiere of this piece is Saturday 26th September at 22:30 at the Røkeriet venue in USF Verftet.

The album, appropriately named EKKO, will be available digitally worldwide through Warner Music, and a vinyl version will be for sale during Ekko and from record shops that ship internationally (like this one.)
