Bygdin release party with support: Lovecult @ Fugazi. Oslo, Norway 10th June 2009
The evening of celebrating Bygdin’s debut release was blemished by a modest crowd taking far too long to catch the duo’s infectuous beats. Whatever’s hindering the dance moves is not Bygdin#1, but by the end of the night the cold Fugazi backyard finally got its audience started:
Oslo Drone: «Lovecult? — Nice, nice…»
«Sorry, what were you saying? I was busy watching the movie clips — is that Blow Up? …say again? Oh, the sound. What you can expect, really. But I just now visually noticed that second guitar there. Wonder what it sounds like. And too bad there’s no reverb on those harsh vocals. “Stranger Danger”..? Well, maybe he should just turn’em down. I don’t know, I guess we know what they’re supposed to sound like.»
*People/friends of the band cheering — half a football field away from the stage*
Oslo Drone: «All the way from Bergen you say? Oh, well, they sound pretty Oslo-ish to me. …huh? Sorry, I was watching the screen again. You were saying?»
Oslo Kraut: «I get so f***in’ frustrated when experimental rock becomes cliché-rock. I hate myself more the more I listen to it.»
Oslo Shoegazer: «Shhh… Bygdin’s on.»
Oslo Drone (observing the crowd): «what..? I feel weird just looking at them;
F**K OFF YOU F***ING HIPSTER F**S
I’M DANCING!»
*People staring whilst being kool*
Oslo Drone (stopping mid-air):
«…»
«BUT YOU CAN’T KEEP ME FROM NODDING!»
*Nod nod nod nod*
Oslo Shoegazer: «Haha, you realize that the Bergen band will sound even more contemporary Oslo after hearing this…»
Oslo Kraut (spinning past with his hands above his head):
«BEST CONCERT SINCE FAUST!»
Oslo Shoegazer: «Look, the visuals just went from bad ugly to good ugly.»
Oslo Drone (joining Oslo Kraut): «Look! Sloooooooooooooow mooooooooo!!!!!»
