New Röyksopp video, and rumours of yet another album?

Written on February 23rd, 2009 by Åse Bredeli Røyset

Yes, yes. The first Röyksopp video, “Happy Up Here”, is here. They might be happy up there (and they should, it’s a great video!), but as the embed function has been disabled (What an outrage! F*ing majors…) you will have to venture to YouTube to check it out. It’s well worth the trip.

On an even more confusing note, we recently picked up a thread on the Röyksopp forum, rambling about the approaching release of Senior. Apparently Senior will be an instrumental version of Junior, a darker, ambient and mature member of the family — the Don, if you like.

The question remains whether this was Svein and Torbjørn joking in an interview, if Senior even exists and if so, will it be out around Christmas time twinned up with the approaching album? Judging from the discussion amongst hardcore Röyksoppers the dark side of Svein and Torbjørn is greatly missed. Yes, away with those ghastly feat. vocals — who wants Karin Dreijer.

Edit: The video has been removed by EMI, so I guess it wasn’t THAT official after all.
