Here’s the latest news on bands confirmed for Norwegian events this summer, and also Norwegian artists playing at foreign festivals:
Hove (22-25 July): The Killers will be asking the question on everybody’s lips - are we human, or are we dancer - at Hove this year, as they were confirmed this week as headliners. Disturbed joined the metal contingent whilst New Jersey Springsteen-lovers The Gaslight Anthem will also take to the stage.
Pstereo (21-22 August): Nu-rave survivors Late of the Pier, Swedish electro delights Slagsmålsklubben, Scandi-punk Thåström and Bergen new boys Fjorden Baby! join the already-booked Röyksopp at Trondheim’s flagship event.
Øya (11-15 August): Returning disco-dudes Datarock, US punks Rise Against and folk visionaries Grizzly Bear joined an impressive line-up in the last few days.
Teip (19-21 March): Looming closer on the horizon, Trondheim’s Teip Festival released their programme this week, with NöMusic favourites diskJokke, Captain Credible, Magnus Moriarty and headliner Lindstrøm joining 65DaysofStatic and many more.
Elsewhere Denmark’s epic Roskilde Festival snapped up Skambankt and metal icons Satyricon, and promise more Norwegian acts in the coming days, whilst Bergen Italo-disco merchant Skatebård will head off to electro-heavy Barcelona hipster-fest Primavera Sound. In neighbouring Sweden the much-hyped Casiokids are confirmed for Arvika, whilst Satyricon and Turbonegro have Peace & Love 2009 in their sights.
