Röyksopp confirm festival dates

Written on January 26th, 2009 by Dan Roberts

Well, after numerous hints, rumours, and false starts Röyksopp finally put an end to the third-album saga by confirming that Junior will hit shelves on March 23rd, with Lykke Li, Robyn and Karin Dreijer Andersson (whose debut solo album Fever Ray, whilst not Norwegian, is utterly breathtaking) in tow. The next step in the duo’s emergence from hibernation is to hit the live circuit, and a handful of festival appearances have already been confirmed. Röyksopp will play their first gig on British soil for four years at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Ether Festival, an upmarket ‘art and technology’ event, whilst two of Norway’s most progressive festivals will also host the downtempo duo in headline slots.

Röyksopp are so far set to play:

Ether Festival (London, Royal Festival Hall), Saturday 11th April 2009

Øyafestivalen (Oslo), 11-15th August

Pstereo (Trondheim), 21st August
