Slottsfjell Festival taking shape

Written on December 14th, 2008 by Dan Roberts

The first lot of names has been confirmed for the seventh annual Slottsfjell Festival in scenic Tønsberg. The event, which last year played host to around sixty bands including Gogol Bordello, Annie, Amadou & Mariam and Kent, has so far notched up 12 artists for next year’s bash, set to take place from the 16-18 July. Foreign (which in this case does not mean good)acts like The Wombats and 65daysofstatic lead the pack, with glam-punks Turbonegro and serial gracer of ‘top albums of 2008′ lists Thom Hell coming along for the ride. It’s not a massively inspiring start, but there are sure to be some nuggets later on.

The bands confirmed for Slottsfjell 2008 are:

65daysofstatic (UK)
Dokkemand
Frontier Ruckus (US)
John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen
Katzenjammer
Manatee Racket
Peachcake (US)
She Said Destroy
Skambankt
Thom Hell
Turbonegro
The Wombats (UK)
