Drummer quits The Lionheart Brothers

Written on December 9th, 2008 by Dan Roberts

The Lionheart Brothers’ drummer Peter Rudolfsen has apparently decided to call time on his involvement with the Trondheim outfit, citing a desire to spend more time with a growing family. It all sounds very amicable, but it’s undoubtedly a blow for fans of the Brothers - it already seems like ages since their second record Dizzy Kiss charmed critics on both sides of the North Sea; with Anglo journos gleefully splashing about phrases like ’shoegazing Beach Boys’, and there has been precious little news on the recording front. Peter is not going to go softly into the good night of musical obscurity, however, as the band are planning one last special concert to say goodbye to their stickman. ‘We’re planing to play the best show we’ve ever done” the band reveals, ’and we hope as many as possible will join us and mark Peter’s lionheart-drumming-majesty has now come to an end…. help us make his last show worthy remembrance, and send him on his way with a bang!’ Indeed.

To say goodbye in person merely turn up at the Revolver Bar, Oslo, on the 11th of December with money and good will.

The new drummer is no baby boy though. Fred Strand is an original Brother Lionheart from their debut EP White Angel Black Apple, who forfeited to, well, spend time with his family.
