Robyn confirmed for the enigma that is Röyksopp’s third album

Written on December 8th, 2008 by Dan Roberts

We reported a few months back that Robyn was rumoured to be lined up for a guest vocal spot on downtempo giants Röyksopp’s new album, and then we revealed that the duo’s record was due, out of the blue, in October. Yes, that’s the October that’s been and gone with no sign of any Röyksopp activity. To be fair we only relayed what a Norwegian tabloid claimed some suit at EMI Norway bizarrely saw fit to trumpet - so the lack of an album obviously is no fault of ours, but readers could be forgiven for perhaps doubting the earlier Robyn-based assertion as well. Well doubt no more, fair public, for Robyn has sparingly revealed to Swedish MTV that she has indeed recorded a song for the forthcoming Röyksopp album which is unnamed, has no confirmed release date, and should not be expected until at least the beginning of next year. There, that should cover our backs.
