Written on November 22nd, 2008 by Åse Bredeli Røyset

The three finalists out of 300 bands, are announced for the Riksalarm award. The award is a continuation of the now defunct Alarm  Award, in which the winner receives a national tour and UK showcase. Last year Ungdomskulen received the honour, and the year before Serena-Maneesh got to be pampered around in a tour bus.

A jury of representatives from Riksskonsertene, MySpace, Norwegian Rock Association, by:Larm and Music Export Norway have chosen the three finalists, and  it is now up to the audience to elect the lucky bastard amongst the following:

Harrys Gym

The jury’s verdict: «With a smoking new album out we couldn’t have found a more current band than Harrys Gym to put in our top three. A lovely live band with great potential». Listen here.

The New Wine

The jury’s verdict: «The very young and talented boys of new wine have a knack for melodies and an energy we are greatly looking forwards to follow up». Listen here.

Ingeborg Selnes

The jury’s verdict: «This girl from Bodø released her debut album this summer and with melody to be matched by few, and a very contagious mood live she will definately make her mark on the nation’s music scene in the future». Listen here.

The winner will be announced at Blå, Oslo, the 28th November. That’s one week from now…
