Today the Dutch celebration of independent culture ZXZW opens in Tilburg, sporting a Norwegian-coloured line up. And it’s not just anybody who get to strut their stuff in the Netherlands - it is after all Oslo-venue Blå who is behind this raging torrent baptised the Norwegian Invasion. Collaborating with Norway Rat, Roggbif Records, Looop.no and Music Export Norway the Norwegian Invasion comes in the shape, smell and sound of heavy-weights (and personal favourites) Årabrot, Monolithic and The White Tiger Prepade, avant-jazz-prog-rock-whatevers Shining, Bergen’s reigning electro-king Bjørn Torske, noise-act Jazkamer’s John Hegre, ambient experimentalists Svarte Greiner, I could go on for ever, but I’ll stop and list them all below.
All the concerts take place in the Batcave, Tilburg from 14th-21st of September. And in exchange? ZXZW is bringing a selection of their artists to Blå for a week next year. Well, ok - if they really have to.
